Chinese Chery will be divided into three brands in Europe and Brazil

In the early 2010s, Chinese brands sought to segment their car lines into sub-brands. This approach is being repeated now, with Chery planning to split into three different brands to expand its operations in Brazil and Europe.

In addition to having CAOA, with the Tiggo models, the iCar electric vehicle and the Arrizo 6 sedan, the Chinese automaker now intends to offer the Omoda and Jaecoo models independently, under direct control of the headquarters. The luxurious Exeed, in turn, will continue to be sold with CAOA.

In Europe, the plan follows a similar pattern: Chery currently operates in Italy through importers, such as DR and Sportequipe, which also sell JAC cars. However, Chery intends to officially start its journey in Europe soon and plans to launch three cars, one from each brand, by 2025.

The Jaecoo brand will offer the J7 SUV, which will also be available on the Brazilian market. However, detailed information regarding its engine and the types of fuel it will use has not yet been released.

Finally, Chery will launch the Exlantix brand, dedicated only to fully electric cars. This new brand will originate from Exeed and will feature the E03 sedan and E0Y SUV models, which were originally developed for Exeed and will be marketed as Sterra ES and Sterra ET, respectively, in the luxury segment.
