China’s Support for UAE’s Climate Change Efforts at COP28 in Dubai

Dubai, October 26 / WAM / His Excellency Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the UAE, affirmed his country’s support for the UAE’s efforts to strengthen global efforts to confront the challenges of climate change, during its hosting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) next month in Expo City Dubai.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the opening of the new headquarters of the Chinese Consulate in Dubai, His Excellency expressed his country’s keenness to actively participate in COP28, which is hosted by the UAE, and to contribute to international efforts aimed at preserving the environment, preserving nature, and addressing the challenges of climate change.

His Excellency pointed out that the relevant authorities in his country, in coordination with the relevant Chinese companies, are intensifying their efforts to finalize the arrangements related to participation in the global event hosted by the UAE next November, and to ensure effective participation in COP28.

The Chinese ambassador pointed to the strong relations between his country and the UAE, which are witnessing continuous development at all levels with the support of the leadership of the two countries, noting that the opening of the new headquarters of the Chinese Consulate in Dubai comes within the framework of the keenness to strengthen cooperation with the UAE.
