Another magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Sichuan, China.
In Sichuan Province, where a magnitude 8.0 earthquake occurred in 2008 that killed nearly 70,000 people, the recent strong earthquakes have made residents uneasy.

The classroom I was in class suddenly shook violently.
The students who hid under the desks hurriedly evacuate out of the building when the vibration stopped.
Even at home, objects fall to the floor due to strong vibrations.
Landslides followed.

“Oh, the earthquake was so strong that I ran away.”
A magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred in Ya’an, Sichuan Province, in northwestern China.
So far, 4 people have been killed and 40 people have been injured.
The damage to the house, such as cracks in the walls, was also serious, so 13,000 residents were evacuated.

“I was so scared when the earthquake happened. My hands and feet were shaking. When I ran outside, a neighbor told me that my face and lips were blue.”
Sichuan authorities are carrying out emergency rescue operations centering on collapsed houses,
We are focusing our efforts on restoring roads, water and power grids that were cut off by the earthquake.
This earthquake is believed to be an followingshock of a magnitude 7.0 earthquake that occurred here in 2013.
At that time, more than 10,000 houses collapsed, and close to 200 residents died.

“Since the last earthquake, the houses and infrastructure built here have been strengthened in seismic design.”
In the past year, there have been 79 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater in Sichuan Province.
Residents are worried that this might be a harbinger of a catastrophe like the 8.0 magnitude earthquake in 2008, which killed 69,000 people.
