China’s service outsourcing industry has seen steady expansion in the first four months of this year, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce.
Chinese enterprises signed service outsourcing contracts worth regarding 683.1 billion yuan (regarding $97.1 billion) in the January-April period, an increase of 15.8 % compared to the previous year.
The value of executed contracts was 461.2 billion yuan during the period, up 19.1 percent year-on-year.
Of this total, the value of offshore service outsourcing contracts rose 15.6 percent from the same period last year, reaching 386 billion yuan.
In terms of the value of contracts executed, outsourcing of offshore services with the United States, European Union and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership members increased by 18.9%, 21% and 24.4% respectively year-on-year annually during the first four months of this year.
Outsourcing is the use of a third party for the provision of services or the production of goods usually provided by the employees of its own companies.
