China’s President Xi Jinping plans to meet with Joe Biden

According to a newspaper report, Chinese head of state Xi Jinping is considering a meeting with US President Joe Biden.

As the “Wall Street JournalChinese officials are planning to meet in November as part of a possible trip by their president to Southeast Asia, reported on Friday. It would be the first face-to-face meeting between the two presidents and Xi’s first trip abroad since the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden open-minded regarding meetings

The two politicians had discussed a possible meeting at a switching conference on July 28. As one person close to the White House said, Biden remains open to gatherings, such as on the sidelines of November’s G20 meeting in Indonesia. Tensions between the two superpowers have recently increased over the disputed status of Taiwan.
