The Electric Vehicles Expo at Automechanika was successfully concluded on September 14, 2024. For the first time, the Geely Holding Group and its brands were represented at the Expo. VREMT, a subsidiary of Geely and a key player in Geely’s new energy strategy, introduced its “800V battery, motor and electronic control solutions”, showcasing China’s progress in the field of new energy.
At the Expo, VREMT showcased the industry-leading advantages of its 800V gold batteries and cells, 800V high-performance SiC four-motor drive systems and 800V HPC-V3 ultra-fast liquid-cooled charging platform. The second-generation gold battery, recently reported by Handelsblatt, has attracted great interest. It offers the world’s fastest charging speed, charging from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes, surpassing all ternary lithium batteries currently in mass production. In this way, five minutes of charging enables two hours of high-speed driving.
The battery also offers a 3-second pulse discharge of up to 22C, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds and particularly appealing to customers who value sporty driving characteristics. It also meets the highest global safety standards and is equipped with eight thermal safety technologies (Cloud, Prevention, Isolation, Absorption, Cooling, Alert, Disconnection and Exhaust) to prevent thermal runaway and ensure precise management throughout its life cycle. To guarantee the battery’s absolute safety, it has passed three extreme safety tests, the first in the industry: 240 seconds of sustained external fire, overpressure penetration and a sequence of six extreme conditions.
VREMT’s offering also includes the 800V high-performance SiC four-motor drive system – the mass-produced distributed four-motor electric drive system with the world’s highest power and torque density (peak power of 930 kW and peak torque of 1,280 Nm). This enables the ZEEKR 001FR to perform “tank turns” and “slalom” and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.02 seconds.
Another highlight is the ultra-fast liquid-cooled 800 V charging platform HPC-V3 with the world’s highest output power of a single charging plug: a maximum voltage of 1,000 V, a maximum current of 800 A and a peak power of 800 kW. Users can recharge the energy in just 10 minutes, setting a global record for charging efficiency in the minute range.
VREMT’s internal cross-domain development and production, combined with its efficient industrial supply chain, make the company a clear market favorite. Products include Lotus, Polestar, Volvo, ZEEKR, Smart, Lynk & Co, Geely Galaxy and Geometry. As long-term goals, VREMT aims to drive technological innovation and promote the development of the global new energy industry.
