Yesterday, the Chinese online shopping platform JD.com suddenly announced a big sale of iPhone 13 across the board, with the slogan “Apple JD.com is cheaper”, and all the iPhone 13 series with reduced prices are in stock, not pre-sale prices. In the past, the price of iPhone in China was higher than that in Hong Kong, but now the price of JD.com is cheaper than the official price in Hong Kong.
China beats Hong Kong
The cheapest of the four, the 128GB iPhone 13 mini, is priced at RMB 4,298 (equivalent to HK$5,036), which is regarding 16% cheaper than the HK$5,999 price in Hong Kong. The JD.com prices for the 128GB versions of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro are 4,798 and 7,099 (regarding HK$5,635 and HK$8,338), which are both cheaper than HK$6,799 and HK$8,499 in Hong Kong, 17% and 1.9% respectively. The only iPhone 13 Pro Max 128GB version, the Jingdong price of 8,099 yuan (regarding HK$9,512) is slightly more expensive than the Hong Kong price of HK$9,399, but the price gap has narrowed significantly.
Split price limited time limited
Although it is a price reduction across the board, buyers actually have to receive a limited amount of 1,000-yuan coupons at a designated time during the promotion period (until June 1). JD.com will also offer discounts on Apple Watch Series 7 and AirPods 3 this time, but only Apple Watch is cheaper than Hong Kong.
