As a result of the derailment of two carriages, the train directly hit the platform, and the front of the train was severely deformed and damaged. The derailment accident injured one driver, one conductor and seven passengers.
According to the “Guizhou Fire” Weibo, a high-speed rail derailment accident occurred in Rongjiang County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province today. The local fire department dispatched 11 vehicles and a total of 52 people to the scene for rescue. In the videos shot by netizens, people can be heard shouting, “The train hit” and “Scared me to death.”
According to the China National Railway Group, at regarding 10:30 am on the 4th, the D2809 passenger train from Guiyang North to Guangzhou South was running at the entrance of the platform tunnel in front of the Rongjiang Station on the Guiguang Line when it crashed into a sudden collapse. The landslide that penetrated the rails caused the derailment of carriages No. 7 and 8, and injured one driver, one conductor and seven passengers.
After the accident, the Group quickly initiated emergency response measures. The injured were sent to Rongjiang County Hospital for full-scale treatment. The injured passengers and conductors were also properly treated, and there was no danger to their lives. However, the accident still caused the unfortunate death of the train driver. At present, the other 136 passengers on the train have been arranged to transfer and evacuate. The rescue work on the spot has been fully launched, and the relevant units are also investigating the cause of the accident.
