BEIJING, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) — China’s electronic information industry recorded steady production expansion in the first ten months of this year, according to official data.
The combined added value of major enterprises, each with an annual business revenue of at least 20 million yuan (regarding 2.8 million US dollars) in this sector, rose 9.5 percent year on year during the period, 5.5 percentage points higher and 0.8 percentage points from those recorded by the industry as a whole and the developed manufacturing sector, respectively, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The value of export delivery in this sector rose 6 percent year on year from January to October, down 0.4 percentage points from the first nine months.
Companies in this sector saw a gradual recovery in their total operating income during the first 10 months, up 8.4 percent over the same period last year, reaching 12.45 trillion yuan.
Investments in the sector also recorded rapid expansion from January to October, with investment in fixed assets rising 20.8 percent year on year, 10 percentage points higher than that recorded in the industry as a whole.
