Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed that “China’s armed forces must be brave and capable of fighting and resolutely safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests.”
During his visit to the headquarters of the PLA’s Eastern Field Command, in eastern Jiangsu Province, he called for “strengthening war planning and combat, strengthening the command system for joint operations, and intensifying training under real combat conditions to raise the forces’ ability to fight and win.”
“As the world enters a new period of turmoil and change, the security situation in China is facing increasing instability and uncertainty,” Xi Jinping said, calling for vigilance against potential dangers and all-out efforts to fulfill the combat duty assigned to the eastern field commands.
