“China will stand by China” — Kuleba on the country’s position

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, spoke about the visit to China. In particular, about the “side” that China chooses, future relations with Ukraine and attempts to lean towards peace negotiations during the visit.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba speak in an interview with “TSN”.

“No one will persuade us to negotiate, because we cannot be persuaded. And we will make any decisions ourselves. They clearly always say that Ukraine itself will decide with whom, when and in what format to conduct negotiations. And these are not just diplomatic words, this is a real position.” – says the minister.

Regarding relations between China and Ukraine, Kuleba says the following:

“There was a clear signal that China is considering bilateral relations with Ukraine, outside the context of their relations with Russia or our relations with the States, or war. This means that China has a clear understanding that relations with Ukraine, as with an independent European country, will be a separate direction of China’s foreign policy.”

According to the minister, the Chinese do not think about which side to choose “here we will side with Russia, here we will side with Ukraine”.

“China will stand by China. Those who think otherwise have a superficial understanding of the situation. They have always firmly, for thousands of years, stood and will stand exclusively in the position of the interests of their country.” — says Kuleba.

We will remind, on July 23, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba arrived in China at the invitation of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Kuleba reminded that this is the first visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to China since the beginning of the full-scale invasion and the first full-fledged bilateral visit since 2012.
