China urges U.S. to suspend semiconductor export controls

China has urged the end of U.S. export controls on semiconductors to China.

China’s Ministry of Commerce said in a statement on the same day, expressing its firm opposition to US semiconductor export controls.

He also argued that the U.S. decision hurts the commercial interests of not only Chinese companies, but also U.S. exporters.

A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry also criticized US export controls targeting Chinese semiconductor producers on the 8th, which abused trade controls and was designed to maintain US “technological hegemony.”

Earlier, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced on the 7th a massive export control plan restricting China’s access to all semiconductor chips made with U.S. technology.

Accordingly, export to China of all foreign semiconductor-related companies that use US technology in addition to US companies will be restricted to China.
