The Chinese government had not taken a position or issued any official statement so far regarding the events, which did have a wide impact both in the state media and on the Asian giant’s social networks.

On Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter -a censored network in the country-, labels on the revolt have been among the most searched since this Saturday.

After declaring in default, the Wagner Group crossed the Russian border on Saturday, occupied the city of Rostov on the Don and sent four columns in a “march of justice” towards Moscow, as the head of the mercenaries, Yevgeny Prigozhin, christened it. in order to replace the Russian military leadership, which he blames for the failures of the Russian Army in Ukraine.

The Russian president described the revolt as “treason” and only thanks to the mediation of his Belarusian counterpart, Alexandr Lukashenko, was an agreement reached with Prigozhin that put an end to the uprising.
