China seeks to forge international consensus on promoting common development and progress for all, said Vice President Han Zheng.
In this sense, Beijing “is ready to work with all parties to promote solid and constant progress of the Global Development Initiative (GDI),” he added.
The vice president made these remarks during the high-level meeting on Cooperation Results of the IDG, organized by China on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Han recalled that both this initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and the main objective of the UN is that no country or person is left behind on the path of development.
According to the vice president, more than 70 countries joined the IDG and nearly 200 cooperation projects were included as part of it.
He also noted that the Chinese side established a special fund of 10 billion dollars in order to implement the initiative.
Han advocated for genuine multilateralism, calling for putting development issues at the center of the international agenda and encouraging the representation of developing countries in global governance.
In addition, he called to promote global, regional, subregional and inter-nation cooperation to enhance the complementary advantages between each other.
As part of his agenda at the United Nations, the Asian leader met with the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, to whom he described the international situation as complex and gloomy.
In his opinion, the world is facing accelerated changes not seen in a century with several unstable and uncertain factors intertwined.
“The vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity, the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative are highly aligned with the ideals and objectives of the United Nations,” he emphasized. They have.
The vice president also expressed the Asian giant’s commitment to world peace, global development and the defense of the international order with the UN as its center.
