Beijing, China (ots) In the last decade, our world has never been so interconnected and connected in so many ways. Over the past 10 years, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has designed the concept of win-win cooperation for countries and regions, bringing with it a huge economic boost.

But how did the Belt and Road Initiative develop from an ambitious concept to a concrete reality and what path did it take to reach its current success?

China Panorama takes you on a journey through the chronology of the BRI to show you how an initiative involving over 150 countries and regions and 30 international organizations became concrete actions.

In 2013, President Xi Jinping first floated the idea of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Silk Road, which later became known as the Belt and Road Initiative. Since then, a variety of infrastructure projects have been carried out under this initiative, helping many countries advance their own development projects – be it in the area of railways or basic public service infrastructure. The BRI has not only brought economic growth but also improved people’s well-being.

The past decade has shown that the Belt and Road Initiative is a prototype for global partnerships to promote connectivity, shared development and prosperity. “I am confident that by working closely together, we can embark on a path of win-win cooperation,” Xi Jinping said.
