China issues plan for traditional medicine development

The Chinese government has issued a new five-year plan for the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), introducing comprehensive arrangements for its related work.

According to the plan released by the General Office of the State Council, by 2025 the capacity of health services provided by MTC will be significantly improved, while the policy and system for high-quality development of the sector will be further advanced. , with full play of its unique strengths in building a healthy China.

In this sense, the plan establishes key tasks to be implemented during the period, such as the creation of a solid TCM service system, the promotion of specialists in the field, and the development of a high-level system for inheritance, protection and innovation in MTC.

Also, the plan extols the combination of the Asian giant’s traditional medicine, modern science and the integration of Chinese and Western medicine to better protect people’s health.
