Beijing, China (ots) – A group of young people, six Indonesians and six Chinese, visited representative companies of China Energy from September 22 to 26 as part of the “We Are Together: Silk Road Youth Trip” organized by the company to share their achievements in areas such as digital To inform transformation, technical innovation and development of green and clean energies, to hold a round table with in-depth discussions. This creates a bridge for friendly communication and exchange between Chinese and Indonesian young people.
During the five-day trip, young representatives from both countries visited Guoneng Guohua (Beijing) Gas Thermal Power Co., Ltd., where they learned more regarding its fully intelligent, highly reliable operation and maintenance processes and green power generation technology with ultra-low emissions of dust, SOx, NOx and CO2 experienced. They also visited Sunergy Co., Ltd., where they observed the automatic, intelligent coal mining process in a coal mine and learned regarding a post-combustion CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage) demonstration project that represents a new generation technology with independent intellectual property rights , which captures CO2 from the flue gas. The captured CO2 can then be injected underground for oil extraction or delivered to nearby chemical plants for production. They also visited the Skyway wind farm in Chongli, where they discovered how renewable energy technologies helped make the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics carbon neutral, and observed how the HICMS (Holographic Integrated Condition Monitoring System) operates the rotor blades, tower and… Foundation of the wind turbine monitored. They came to Huanghua Port, the world’s first dry bulk port to realize intelligent full-process operation, which deeply impressed Indonesian guests with its efficient, intelligent and clean production. They also visited the Cangdong Power Plant, where the seawater desalination demonstration project, “which processes seawater into drinking water,” amazed Indonesian youth.
The youth from both countries had a roundtable in Beijing on September 26, where they discussed their visits to China Energy and a range of other topics such as energy digitalization, technological innovation, ecological progress, renewable energy development and cultural integration between China and Indonesia. They agreed that comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in areas such as energy development, application of new technologies and green and low-carbon development provides more opportunities for the growth of youth. They work together in the field of scientific and technical innovation, technological change and industrial modernization, allowing young people from both countries to better understand each other and jointly promote cultural exchange and mutual learning.
China Energy announced the establishment of an Indonesian branch of the Guodian Young Makers Alliance during the roundtable. The alliance aims to nurture young, innovative talent and the establishment of the Indonesian branch will provide a platform for Indonesian youth to improve their expertise and technical skills or become more innovative and efficient.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the BRI. Over the past decade, China Energy has made consistent efforts to combine China’s proposed BRI with Indonesia’s GMF strategy Global Maritime Fulcrum by investing in and developing three safe, environmentally friendly, clean and efficient power plants, ensuring stable electricity supply in local areas and realizing the vision for building the Chinese-Indonesian community of shared future. China Energy also plans to make the “We Are Together” cultural program a regular platform to promote communication, mutual learning and friendship between Chinese and Indonesian youth.
