Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The health authorities in China announced, on Monday, that it had been decided to cancel the quarantine requirements for all travelers arriving from outside its borders, and all other precautionary measures related to confronting the spread of the Corona virus, including the quarantine of the infected, as of From January 8 next.

“With the approval of the State Council, the outbreak prevention measures for Class A infectious diseases required by law will cease to apply to Covid from January 8, 2023,” the Chinese National Health Commission said in a statement.

It means that January 8, 2023 will mark the official end of the quarantine policy for all international arrivals in China, which was first launched in 2020.

However, travelers to China will need to have a negative PCR test result within the 48 hours prior to arrival.

Currently, people arriving from outside China and Macao need to undergo 5 days of hotel quarantine and 3 days of self-isolation at home.
