China.- China and Pakistan will hold joint naval exercises off the coast of Shanghai

MADRID, 10 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

China has announced that it will hold naval exercises with Pakistan off the coast of Shanghai in mid-July.

Chinese Army Navy spokesman Liu Wensheng said the joint exercise, Sea Guardians-2, is part of China-Pakistan defense cooperation relations, CGTN television reported.

Wensheng explained that the objective is to “jointly face naval security challenges” and that, at the same time, it promotes a strategic alliance in the area.

Likewise, the spokesman clarified that these drills have been scheduled in accordance with the “existing annual plan” and that it does not point to “third countries”.

This type of practice has been carried out jointly by China and Pakistan on previous occasions. On January 14, 2020, both countries concluded a nine-day “mega naval exercise”.
