China reacts critically to the export ban imposed by the Dutch government on the company ASML. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates in a reaction to oppose the use of “administrative means of intervention and limitation of exchanges between Chinese and Dutch companies”.
Yesterday, the Dutch government decided that chip machine maker ASML is no longer allowed to export certain machines to China. Foreign Trade Minister Liesje Schreinemacher says the new export restrictions are necessary from an international security perspective. The regulations aim to prevent Dutch-made chip machines from being used to produce chips that might end up in Chinese military equipment.
These additional restrictions which have just been decided on relate to the technology provided by the firm ASML located in Veldhoven (Netherlands). The Minister refers to a ‘unique leadership position’ in the field of chip technology. China is issuing an official protest once morest the measures in question, according to NU.nl.
