China Allocates Funds for Flood and Geological Disaster Relief: Support for Chongqing and Sichuan Regions

BEIJING, July 5 (Xinhua) — China on Wednesday (July 5) allocated funds from the Central Natural Disaster Relief Fund. To support flood and geological disaster relief work in many regions. This includes Chongqing and Sichuan (Sichuan), with 320 million yuan (regarding 1.55 billion U.S. dollars).

According to China’s Ministry of Finance, the above budget is split into 250 million yuan (regarding 1.21 billion U.S. dollars) for flood control and disaster relief efforts and 70 million yuan (regarding 339 million U.S. dollars) for geological disaster relief work.

This budget is jointly allocated by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Emergency Management. and local authorities will be distributed to coordinate emergency rescue and disaster relief efforts. which focuses on search, assistance, immigration and the settlement of people affected by natural disasters.
