Eight management students from the Steyr University of Applied Sciences campus were once once more honored with the “Chimney Award” this year for their outstanding bachelor’s and master’s theses: Jakob Breitwieser, Maximilian Grabher, Julian Heidlmayr, Severin Holzner, Franziska Schinko, Tim Steinrötter and Laura Wolf swallower received one Ceremony at the beginning of April the coveted trophies.
The name is derived from the large industrial chimney that stands on the Steyr campus, explains initiator Herbert Jodlbauer: “Chimneys that emit a lot of smoke were a sign of industrial performance. Today the chimneys of our university are emission-free , which symbolizes our commitment to sustainability.” Many of the award-winning works are dedicated to this topic.
Congratulations came from Economics and Research Councilor Markus Achleitner: “The Steyrer Awards underline the importance of innovation for Upper Austria as a business location.” Dean Heimo Losbichler gives roses to the graduates: “The awards are a recognition of the exceptional achievements of our graduates and confirm the excellent CHE ranking, in which we emerged as the best economics faculty in Austria.”
