The uncertainty that prevailed regarding whether the elected mayor Heimarras will be included in the European ballot came to an end today at the official presentation of the ND candidates, where upon hearing his name the attendees stood up and applauded. The same thing happened in Heimarra, where the residents of the area see the choice of Beleris on the ND European ballot as a justification, while the mayor, whom they chose, remains imprisoned in Albania.
After the formalization of his name on the ND’s European ballot list, Fredis Beleris said:
“The battle I’m fighting is not personal. It is a battle for the rule of law and democracy, whose rules must be respected by all […]. It is a battle for the most suffering and wronged part of Hellenism, the Greek minority of Albania. My brothers who following decades of oppression want and are entitled to live freely and peacefully, without fear, in a place that respects their rights, honor and property.”
