A true sporting festival will take place this Saturday at the gymnasium of the Marta Brunet High School in Chillán, when, starting at noon, the third round of the National Kickboxing Championship will be held, organized by the Lobos Club, one of the leading sports clubs in the regional capital.
“We have 80 registered competitors who will compete in 40 fights on this date, which will award points for the final stages. There are local competitors who have a great chance of winning their fights and earning points for the finals at the end of the year, but there are also outstanding rivals who will win their fights,” anticipates Luis Veloso, founder and instructor of the Lobos de Chillán Kick Boxing Club.
Among the local exponents who will be putting their all into the ring that will be set up in the municipal educational facility, there are Mariana Soto, Martina Rojas, Francisca Sandoval, Marjorie Torres and Héctor Henríquez, who have been preparing for months to win their respective fights in this national competition.
“On this date we will have fights in the low kick and K-1 modalities, in the amateur and semi-pro categories. The National Championship includes nine dates and we will have a high level on this third day in which we hope that many people will attend to watch the fights,” highlights Luis Veloso, who anticipates that Chillán will continue to host major events in this discipline.
“We will be the hosts of this third date, but we will also be the venue for the national semi-final fights in October, for which we hope to have our own ring, since on this occasion a ring is being brought from Temuco with international measurements for the matches,” said Veloso.
