Chilean Navy’s Participation at Madex 2023: Strengthening International Cooperation and Naval Defense

According to the Chilean Navy, Commander Pérez participated in various activities, symposiums and visits, which allowed him to become familiar with the main capabilities of the Korean defense industry, as well as to increase friendly relations with friendly navies and with the Republic of Korea Navy.

The international exhibition constitutes one of the most important fairs and meeting points for the marinas of Asia Pacific, in addition to having a series of national companies such as Hanwha Systems, Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) y Hyundai Rotem that stand out for excellence in the development of shipbuilding and systems development.

In the maritime event, in which world companies such as Babcock International, Fincantieri NexTech, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Rolls-Royce y Thaleshighlighted the sample of remote elements both aerial, surface and submarine.

Mutual cooperation and interoperability

Commander Perez, for his part, highlighted the relevance of interacting with the Asia Pacific navies, with which they share an interest in maintaining the safety of navigation and maritime communication lines, considering the high increase in trade between Asia and Chile. , which is carried out mostly by ship. In addition, he emphasized the importance of increasing the bonds of mutual cooperation and interoperability.

“One of the most relevant aspects is the fact that, despite the great physical distance, we are united by interest and concern for the sea, sharing the same principles and values, referring to maintaining the ability to protect life at sea. and safeguard national interests, wherever they are,” said the Chilean naval officer.
