The Chilean media La Tercera dedicated an opinion article titled “Un Bukele Para Chile”, which highlights the successful results in terms of security obtained by the Government of President Nayib Bukele in El Salvador, contrasting it with the current situation in Chile.
«Today the rate has dropped to just 1.5 homicides and, by 2024, only 27 deaths have occurred. A radical change that today allows Salvadorans to stop counting deaths and focus on counting how many days they have gone without homicides,” he highlights.
With respect to Chile, he mentions that “murders, hitmen, dismemberments and crazy bullets, crimes even unthinkable in our territory, today are part of the usual panorama.”
Likewise, he emphasized the positive opinion that Chileans have of President Bukele, that according to studies carried out, 8 out of 10 Chileans have a favorable assessment of the Salvadoran president.
«El Salvador had this radical change and with such successful results. Today the gangs are in jail and it is the honest citizens who walk freely on the street. “That is not an authoritarian regression, but a definitively civilizational advance,” he adds.
