Chilean company starts production of green hydrogen: a Porsche is the first to fill the pond | Economy

Energy Minister Diego Pardow led the event, in which a Porsche 911 was loaded with synthetic gasoline, thus beginning a new era for transportation, since “eFuels” are made with green hydrogen and recycled CO2.

The company HIF Global unveiled this morning the first liters of e-fuels produced in Magallanes, through green hydrogen energy.

For the occasion, a Porsche 911 vehicle, toured the facilities of the Haru Oni plant, using the first liters of e-fuel produced.

It is an industry that has a wind turbine that produces the driving force necessary to carry out obtaining the desired energy source.

Different authorities and media, both national, local and international, attended the place.

Among the executives of the industry, the president HIF Global, Caesar Norton; the board member Porsche, Michael Steiner and the general manager of Enel Chile, Fabrizio Barderi.

The Minister of Energy, Diego Pardow, the governor of Magellan, Jorge Flies, and the mayor of Punta Arenas, Claudio Radonich.

Is regarding a historic step for the future of the region.

This given that, unlike hydrocarbons such as oil and its derivatives, e-fuels are generated through electrolysis processes powered by green energy.

It is a friendly process that protects the environment, because it does not emit greenhouse gases into the atmosphere like carbon dioxide.

It is a product that can eventually displace fossil fuels without the need for changes to current engines and infrastructure.

In the case of Magallanes, the industry will have the Patagonian wind as its source of energy. This, considered according to different studies as one of the most competitive for these purposes worldwide.
