Chile says there is “significant” progress in the investigation into the kidnapping of Ronald Ojeda

There are several hypotheses and as the days go by, the disappearance of former military officer Ronald Ojeda Moreno becomes darker. The Minister of the Interior, Carolina Tohá, said that the case is being investigated and that if it is proven that the Nicolás Maduro regime would be involved, it would be considered an “aggressive act” by the Venezuelan State.

In conversation with T13, Tohá pointed out regarding this hypothesis that “over the course of this time, several times it has been said, informally, by different actors that things like this are known to have happened, but the truth is that when it comes to looking at , they have not happened.”

«It would be an unprecedented situation, of the greatest severity, unprecedented with respect to what relations between Latin American countries are like. “We would really take it as if we were in a different situation if that were the case,” he said.

Ojeda Moreno was forcibly taken from his apartment in the Santiago commune of Independencia, in the early hours of Wednesday, February 21, by four subjects dressed as Chilean police officers, before the astonished gaze of his wife, his sister and his four-year-old son. .

Regarding possible progress in the proceedings carried out by both the Carabineros de Chile and the Investigative Police, Tohá declined to provide further information. “It is not reported because it gives the kidnappers an advantage to know where the investigation is going.”
