Abu Dhabi: Twenty-four children of Payaswini Abu Dhabi’s children’s theater “Kalipanthal”, a family group of Kasargodukars in Abu Dhabi, are coming to perform Aksharshloka at the Sharjah International Book Fair.

On November 12, the last day of Pushtotsavam, children will perform Aksharshloka as part of the Manojnam Malayalam program at ten o’clock in the morning.

Twenty-four children studying from class 1 to class 9 are participating. Children are divided into four teams for the presentation. You can see a lot of innovation in the name of the teams. The children perform Aksharshloka in four teams named following the Malayalam Sanskrit verses such as Indravajra, Vasanthilakam, Kusumamanjari and Panchachamaram.

Perhaps this is the first time Aksharshloka is being organized at the Sharjah Book Festival. This initiative of the Payaswini Kalipanthal children will be an example for non-resident children who are usually not very fluent in Malayalam as they do not get the opportunity to learn Malayalam as part of the school syllabus.

After months of training, the children are ready to participate in the program with good self-confidence. Officials said that the children and Payaswini families were going to Sharjah in two buses from Abu Dhabi.

Children are trained by Ramesh Devaraga, a Kalipanthal coordinator and a Malayalam Mission teacher in Abu Dhabi. Manoj Kalarikal, the Malayalam coordinator of Manojna, is also there with all the necessary help in the city of Pustakotsava.
