When is Children’s Day in Colombia?

Children’s Day in Colombia is celebrated on the last Saturday of April of each year, therefore, this 2023, the celebration will take place next Saturday the 29th throughout the country. Although Children’s Day is on November 20 internationally, the United Nations General Assembly allows all countries to choose any date of the year.

This celebration has been taking place since 1999 and was institutionalized as a law in 2001, this law bears the number 724 and as such, it is respected throughout the Latin American country. Precisely in the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization in 1959, he selected November 20 as International Children’s Day, after having approved the declaration of the Rights of the Child, in which, according to UNICEF, 10 fundamental ones are highlighted. .

This Saturday, April 29, the Government of Colombia is expected to carry out a series of activities that are organized in the different regions of the country.

Why is Children’s Day celebrated in Colombia and the world?
