In addition to two dogs and two children, the family in Lejre consists of rabbits, hamsters and aquarium fish.

But for half a year, from the trial start in March until the season ends, the Cirkusrevyen takes up quite a lot.
Since 2023, the revue has had a two-week summer holiday in weeks 29 and 30, when Merete Mærkedahl and the family were in a summer house in Sweden. In fine weather!
– It was really idyllic with a forest lake where we could swim. But now work calls again! The circus revue is a fantastic workplace to be a part of, says the North Jutland actor.
– It has been a fantastic summer with the revue and great to be able to follow the seasons in the beautiful forest.

North Jutland has asked a number of people from North Jutland about their summer, described in three things or three words. Today with actress Merete Mærkedahl, who describes her summer with the words relaxation, work and family.
Merete Mærkedahl is, among other things, known for her role as Otilia in the 10 seasons of the TV series Badehotellet, has won Vild med dans, and has performed revues both in Hjørring and now in Cirkusrevyen, where for the second year in a row she portrays Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. Privately, she is in a relationship with Anna Windfeld, who is an apprentice gardener, and the couple have children Esther, nine, and Anker, six.
Now the Circus Revue is playing again in the tent at Bakken, and tickets have just been put on sale for two extra performances in August.
– It’s really nice to be involved in making something that makes people happy. Last year was absolutely phenomenal, and we are all very happy this year as well. It is something of a team sport to make a revue! It is a wonderful workplace.
Merete Mærkedahl appears twice in the revue as Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen:
– After all, it is the Cirkusrevyen’s trademark to fart and parody both politicians and the royals. It belongs and the audience expects it.
Merete Mærkedahl lives with her family (and the many animals) in Lejre, where the summer also invites you to swim in a nearby lake, and there is also a sea bath not far away.
– We also have a local ice cream and coffee place that we often visit. Here we have fun and play block major!
