In its weekly update this Wednesday, Santé Publique France records a further increase in hospitalizations for bronchiolitis, while pediatric services are at their wit’s end.

If the Minister of Health, François Braun, invoked on Sunday and “inflection” of the epidemic, three days later, bronchiolitis still continues to spread, according to official figures. In its weekly report this Wednesday, Public Health France notes a “further increase in emergency room visits and hospitalizations” the previous week in children under two years of age, “after a decrease linked to school holidays”.

This Wednesday marks, according to SPF, the third consecutive week in which treatment for bronchiolitis represents “half of hospitalizations following a visit to the emergency room”, in bloodless hospitals. A total of 6,882 babies went to the emergency room and 2,552 were hospitalized.
