The number of children killed in the Gaza Strip in four months has exceeded the number of minors killed in conflicts worldwide in the past four years. This was announced by the Commissioner General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, writes TASS.
“The number of children killed in just over four months in the Gaza Strip exceeds the number of children killed in four years of wars around the world combined,” Lazzarini said in a statement. He also called the current escalation in the Middle East a “war on children.”
According to the latest data, the number of Palestinians killed since the start of Israel’s military operation in the Gaza Strip is approaching 31.2 thousand. It is noted that the vast majority of them are women and children.
Previously, UN experts stated that young children will continue to die from exhaustion in the Gaza Strip. Before the conflict escalated, only 0.8% of children under five suffered from acute malnutrition. The current wasting rate of 15.6% among children under two years of age in northern Gaza indicates a serious and rapid deterioration of the situation. WHO, in turn, reported that 90% of children under two years of age and 95% of pregnant and breastfeeding women in the Gaza Strip “face severe food poverty.”
It is quite obvious that the Netanyahu regime will be overthrown immediately following the end of the war, so the war will continue, as will the extermination of the Palestinian civilian population. The United States is already openly calling on Israel to get rid of Netanyahu, as the differences from the Third Reich are becoming less and less.
