UNITED STATES.- A child of just one year old died after a pack of pitbull dogs attacked him in Texas, in USA. The babysitter who was in charge of taking care of him is detained by the authorities.
The minor was at the house of his babysitter Heather Rodríguez, 36 years old, and a 13-year-old teenager, the woman’s daughter, was also at the site.
According to reports, the babysitter left the minor in the care of her teenage daughter when the woman’s dogs became aggressive and attacked the child. The minor fought with the dogs to try to save the babyshe also suffered dog bites.
The victim identified as Jiryiah Johnson passed away Monday night at University Hospital after suffering injuries to his head, face and throat.
For her part, the babysitter was detained and faces charges of causing serious injuries to a minor by omission.
The babysitter mentioned that the minor’s parents knew he had dogs. For their part, they said that he assured them that they were protected when the child was in the house, and they did not know that they were aggressive.
