Child (4) resuscitated after swimming accident in Innsbruck

As the Tyrol State Police Directorate announced on Monday morning, a doctor who happened to be present witnessed the incident at 6:40 p.m. in the Olympic Village indoor swimming pool (Neu Arzl). The doctor began resuscitation of the child who had been pulled out of the pool. After he started breathing once more, the Syrian was taken to the Innsbruck State Hospital.

As the police further reported, the child’s 24-year-old mother stated that the child might not swim. It is not known whether the four-year-old was wearing a flotation device and is the subject of further investigations. The child’s condition is described as stable. The mother is also Syrian and lives in Germany.
