Chief physician brings positive news to travelers

The proportion of patients who have approached their GP with a flu-like illness has been increasing in recent weeks, although it is still at a low level.

Statistics from the Statens Serum Institut’s waste water monitoring show an increase in the number of infections with the coronavirus in the past week of 31 percent.

For many people, the increasing contagion comes at the worst possible time. Just before vacation and travel.

But if you are nervous about how to behave when you are on your way to Europe or the rest of the world, then according to Henrik Nielsen, who is a senior physician and professor at the Department of Infectious Diseases at Aalborg University Hospital, you can take it easy.

– Our everyday life is no longer affected by the coronavirus. There is no problem, so the short answer is that people should take their holidays as usual, reads the message from Henrik Nielsen.

The chief doctor explains that they have noted the increasing infection, but it is not something that affects the hospitals.

– We have registered that there are waste water samples which indicate that there is a virus circulating, but it is not something that currently worries us. In the hospitals, we do not experience that there is any significant spread of infection in society.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs writes in its travel guide that you must still be aware that there is still a risk of infection with Covid-19 throughout the world. There may be countries outside the EU and the Schengen countries that have entry restrictions or other Covid-19 related national restrictions.
