The saga of the chief clerk of the Walloon Parliament therefore took a new turn this Friday. As a reminder, its Office announced in a press release that it had ruled by secret vote, and unanimously, on the sanction which will be inflicted on Frédéric Janssens. This Office, made up of Walloon deputies, inflicts an automatic resignation on him. This means that the man suspended for more than a year will be able, when he reaches retirement age, to benefit from his rights for the years served within the assembly. If it had been simply revoked, this would not have been the case. The same day, the main person concerned also reacted in a press release, expressing surprise that this “heavy sanction” was taken without the Bureau of Parliament waiting for: “the outcome of judicial investigations that he himself desired” “And which he invoked as the justification for my suspension”.

They speak of a return to the province of Walloon Brabant where he was in charge of Tourism as director.
