Chicken Street: insects, mould, poor conservation… One of the restaurants closes its doors for “serious and imminent danger to health”

A restaurant of the Chicken Street franchise, located in Val-d’Oise, was administratively closed following a health check.

What to cut the appetite. A Chicken Street restaurant in Val-d’Oise had to lower its curtain following several health violations noted on the spot.

In Garges-lès-Gonesse, one of the restaurants of the Chicken Street franchise was visited by agents of the Departmental Directorate for Population Protection. The latter noted several breaches of hygiene rules.

Among these shortcomings, the agents observed thawed meat that was swimming in stagnant water, sauce with traces of mold, flying insects in the kitchen or even minced steaks kept at a temperature that was far too high.

Other violations were noted: dirty premises and equipment, lack of staff training in good hygiene practices, but also unprotected foodstuffs.

“Because of these shortcomings, the establishment presents a serious and imminent danger to health due to the significant probability of contamination or development of microorganisms and food poisoning”, declared the prefecture of Val-d’ Oise.

Therefore, the restaurant is closed until further notice. To obtain the right to reopen, the establishment must comply with the standards in force.
