COBY White posted a career-high 42 points, nine rebounds and six assists when he led the Chocago Bulls to a 131-116 win over the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA play-in match, Thursday (18/4) WIB.
Nikola Vucevic added 24 points and 12 rebounds while DeMar DeRozan scored 22 points for the Bulls, who scored 40 points in the first quarter and never trailed all game.
Dejounte Murray led the Hawks with 30 points while Trae Young and Clinr Capela both scored 22 points in the game that ended their bid for the NBA playoffs.
The Hawks scored 45 points in the second quarter as they cut an 18-point deficit to just 6 at the break but the Bulls pulled away once more in the second half and led by as many as 23 points.
White, who is a candidate for the Most Improved Player award, has appeared regularly for the Bulls this season, making 15 of his 21 attempts.
“I am very grateful for the progress I have made and the opportunities I have been given,” said White.
Now, the Bulls will face the Miami Heat in the next NBA play-in match with the winner of that match going to meet the Boston Celtics in the playoffs. (AFP/Z-1)
