General Motors has unveiled the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV electric crossover, built on the GM Ultium platform with a range of up to 300 miles (483 km). Starting at $30,000, the Equinox EV will be one of the most affordable electric vehicles on the US market.
Equinox EV will be available in several versions. The most affordable version of the Equinox EV 1LT is equipped with a single 210 horsepower electric motor driving the front wheels. It will have a range on a full charge of regarding 250 miles (402 km). Equinox EV 1LT options will also be offered – front-wheel drive with a range of up to 300 miles, and all-wheel drive with a range of up to 280 miles (451 km), but they will cost more. The all-wheel drive version of the Equinox EV will receive two electric motors with a total capacity of 290 horsepower.
Equinox EV 2LT and 3LT models will also be produced, as well as 2RS and 3RS. They will offer more advanced specifications and richer equipment options, while the RS model gets a darker interior and more functionality. All of them will have a range of up to 300 miles.
Each model will also be available in an all-wheel drive version with a range of up to 280 miles. Unlike the more expensive Chevrolet Blazer EV, the Equinox EV will only be available with all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. A rear-wheel drive version is not available for this electric vehicle.
Sales of the Equinox EV 2RS are expected to start in fall 2023. All other versions will go on sale only in the spring of 2024.
