Kakkanad: The international annual conference of the Cherupushpa (Little Flower) Mission League, a Catholic organization active in various countries today, will be held online on March 2. Archbishop Mar Raphael, Head of Syro Malabar Church and Patron of the Mission League will inaugurate the programme.
Cherupushpa Mission League International President Davies Valluran will preside over the meeting and Siro Malabar Church Vocation Commission Chairman Bishop Mar Lawrence Mukkuzhi will deliver the keynote address. Bishop Peter Kochupurakal, Vice-Chairman of the Divine Calling Commission, Chicago Diocese Bishop Mar Joy Alappat, Mississauga Diocese Bishop Mar Jose Kalluvel, Great Britain Diocese Bishop Mar Joseph Srambical, and European Apostolic Visitor Bishop Mar Stephen Chirapanath will deliver the blessing sermon.
General Secretary of the Mission League Ireland Committee Jincy Joseph and Joint Secretary of the Qatar Committee Jennifer Abhilash will offer their congratulations. Mission League International General Secretary Benoy Palliparampil will present the report. International Director Fr. James Punnaplakal will give the welcome and General Organizer John Kochucherunilath will give the vote of thanks. The meeting will be attended by national, state and diocesan officials and representatives from various countries.
Fr. Cherupushpa Mission League is a movement started on October 3, 1947 under the leadership of Joseph Maliparampil and PC Abraham Kunhetan. This organization started its activities in Bharanganam, Kerala and later spread throughout Kerala and various parts of India. After years Mission League has spread its activities outside India to various countries, today it is actively working in countries like America, Canada, UK, Italy, Ireland, Australia and Qatar.
The official International Committee was selected early last year in conjunction with the Platinum Jubilee closing celebrations of the Cherupushpa Mission League. Fr. Anthony Thekemuri – India (Executive Members) are the members of the International Committee.
