Chen Qimai was prepared to inquire regarding half the audience, and the pitch-blue camp sent candles to criticize “warm men become soft men”

When Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Qimai came to the parliament for inquiry today (21), the meeting room was suddenly pitch black and only weak emergency lights were left. It turned out that the Kuomintang Group of the Kaohsiung City Council was dissatisfied with the 303 Taiwan-wide power outage. Only following ordering to turn off the lights in the audience to protest, Lanying also sent two candles to Chen Qimai, angrily criticizing “warm men become soft men”.

“Send electricity from the south to the north! Citizens are unhappy!” Tong Yanzhen, the general summoner of the Kuomintang Group of the Kaohsiung City Council, said directly. The mayor must stand up, speak out for the Kaohsiung people, and seek compensation. The mayor should not just choke at Taipower, but take practical actions.

Kaohsiung City Councilor Liu Delin said that Kaohsiung is an important power generation town, and it is necessary to send electricity from the south to the north, but Kaohsiung people seem to have become fifth- and sixth-class citizens. Kaohsiung City Councilor Huang Shaoting was dissatisfied, saying that Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Meihua said “Kaohsiung is a rural place.” This remark is discriminating once morest Kaohsiung people, so why not talk regarding the other six capitals.

Gao City Councilor Chen Ruocui directly criticized that the power outage shows that the incompetent government will only use sophistry and drag. Gao City Councilor Chen Lina denounced Chen Qimai for “turning a warm man into a soft man” and becoming a soft man when he encountered the central government, leaving the citizens with nothing to rely on.

In this regard, Chen Qimai asked the Kuomintang not to misinterpret the meaning of the Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Meihua, but he was really dissatisfied with the resilience of the power grid. He hoped that Taipower would actively improve it. At the same time, he reiterated its opposition to the transmission of electricity from the south to the north. Taoyuan and New Taipei are also responsible for stable power supply and regional balance, so both the central and local governments are responsible.

In the end, Blue Camp also sent two candles, “Guotai Min’an” and “Good Weather”, which were placed on Chen Qimai’s table, hoping that Chen Qimai would be sympathetic to the hard work of Kaohsiung citizens. After Chen Qimai touched the candle, it was taken away by DPP lawmakers.

Gao City Council Non-Party Solidarity Alliance is also concerned regarding power outages and electricity consumption issues, calling on the city government to face up to the issue of people’s livelihood, believing that Taipower’s compensation for the “copper price” is very insincere. Chen Qimai said that Taipower made a lot of mistakes and should not be able to. The city government will assist individuals or companies in making compensations, and hope Taipower will show more sincerity.
