A small residential street in Brossard took on the appearance of a war zone on Wednesday morning following a truck driver forgot to lower the dumpster of his vehicle, tearing out electrical wires and poles in his path.
The incident occurred shortly before 11 a.m., on chemin des Prairies, at the intersection of boulevard Rivard.
Clearly, the truck driver behind it all has had better mornings before.
In all likelihood, the truck driver forgot to lower the bed of his HGV and continued to drive down the street.
The dumpster of his truck would have struck electrical wires and these dragged two Hydro-Quebec poles to the ground.
These fell in the middle of the street. Luckily, no one was injured.
However, the damage is considerable.
The trucker was not injured. It is not known why the dumpster of his truck was raised at the time of the events.
A portion of Chemin des Prairies was completely closed to traffic for part of the day.
As a safety measure, power was temporarily cut off in the area where the accident occurred.
