(APS) – The leaders of Chelsea (English elite) have found “a complete agreement” with Villarreal (Spain) to secure the services of their Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson, announced on Friday Fabrizio Romano, Italian journalist specializing in player transfers.
Villarreal sources confirm they have agreed to Chelsea paying just over €35m [près de 23 milliards de francs CFA] release clause,” said Mr. Romano.
He announces that “medical tests are scheduled” for Nicolas Jackson, who should sign a long-term contract, in relation to the personal conditions agreed.
Three other clubs, whose identity he did not mention, wanted to secure the services of the Senegalese player, who had a preference for Chelsea, he said.
The Villarreal striker has played 26 games for the Spanish club this season. He scored 12 goals and provided four assists.
Nicolas Jackson is a former Casa Sports player (Senegalese elite). It was during the 2019-2020 season that he left for Spain to drop off his bundles at Deportivo Mirandès (2nd Spanish division), before subsequently committing to Villarreal, of which he became one of metronomes.
If he manages to sign with the London club, he would be the fifth Senegalese international to wear the blue tunic following Demba Ba (2013-2014), Papy Mison Djilobodji (2015), Edouard Mendy (since 2020) and the current national team captain, Kalidou Koulibaly (since 2022).
