Chelsea sack their two French players, 80 million gone – Foot 01

Chelsea have decided to strike hard this winter, and Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile are being invited to find a new club as early as January.

The big buying frenzy is over at Chelsea, where American owner Todd Boehly has understood that there is no point in buying everyone without thinking, and that it does not necessarily make a team in the end. As a result, it is the big sale at a time when OM is mentioned to recover Mykhaïlo Mudryk, the Ukrainian winger snatched when he was going to sign for Arsenal, for 100 million euros. But other Blues players are targeted, and two French defenders bought at a high price are invited to find a new club in the January transfer window. Attention interested teams, Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi are now for sale.

Millions of euros spent for very little

The media Team Tealk claims that the two former Monaco players do not inspire any confidence in the current coach Enzo Maresca and the London club says that, with these long-term contracts, it is time to limit the damage on the financial level. Regarding Benoit Badiashile, his value logically dropped after his arrival in 2023 against 38 million euros. The same goes for the player revealed at Reims, who signed for more than 40 million euros, and has never really convinced in the axis as in the right-back position. It remains to be seen whether English clubs will try their luck to revive players who are still young but who have not managed to establish themselves at Chelsea.

In any case, the word has got out and the clean sweep planned for this January is likely to be imposing for Chelsea, who have already made it known that the Conference League does not really interest them, and that the idea is to reduce the squad to finally try to create a team capable of playing a leading role in the Premier League.
