But rather of succumbing to grief, Shemtob has chosen to channel his sorrow into action. He finds solace and purpose in serving free, foil-wrapped breakfast burritos and tacos from his award-winning food truck, The Lime Truck, to those struggling in the wake of the disaster. His meals provide nourishment and a flicker of hope to weary evacuees and the brave first responders battling the blazes.
“It would be easy for me to just sit and wallow,” Shemtob admitted, “But ther are so many people who have lost even more. I wanted to do something to help.”
