Two cheerleaders who got into the wrong car in a supermarket parking lot were shot at by an angry man on Tuesday morning in Elgin, Texas.

The young women were returning to their car after cheerleading practice. One of them accidentally entered a vehicle believing it was hers, according to information from NBC News.

Heather Roth, one of the victims, explained the story in an Instagram Live post. She said there that as soon as she noticed the presence of a man in the passenger seat, she hastened to return to the right car.

The man, however, got out of his vehicle to challenge them. Heather rolled down the window to apologize, but he repeatedly fired at them.

One of the two girls in the vehicle only sustained a scratch, while the other was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

A GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign was created by their cheerleading team, the Woodlands Elite Generals, to raise money to cover hospital costs.

The team managed to raise US$60,800, at the time of this writing, Wednesday noon.
