“It’s obviously frustrating. We have not yet received the car, but we hope that the damage is only on the left front side, which I hope will be repairable in time for the next session”, started the boss of the Red Bulls, who expressed his solidarity with the situation of the tricolor.

“It is unfortunate. He put a tire on the grass and made a mistake in Turn 5. I haven’t been able to talk to him yet, but we’ll talk following the session. Hopefully he won’t lose too much from this session because the rest won’t do many laps in these conditions, but obviously it’s not the ideal way to start the weekend.

“You might hear the frustration in his voice (on the radio. It is what it is. We are going to get him out on track as soon as possible in the next session,” Christian Horner released.

Regarding the first laps of Daniel Ricciardo with the AlphaTauri, Horner had comfortable words, before a session that left nothing for all the teams, following the intermittent rainy conditions.

“It’s good for Daniel, it’s good for Formula 1, it’s good for AlphaTauri to have Daniel back. I think the most important thing for him was to rediscover his passion for Formula 1 (…) I think it’s regarding showing what he’s capable of. It is a difficult car, they are at the bottom of the constructors’ championship and the priority is to start scoring points and move up the order. I don’t think AlphaTauri is Daniel’s long-term aspiration, but it’s a good way for him to return to the category and rediscover his magic,” Horner concluded.
