We have started accepting reservations for the 3rd generation iPhone SE, but don’t forget the new colors of the iPhone 13 series. “Green” will be added to iPhone 13 and 13 mini, and “Alpine Green” will be added to iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max.
Speaking of green, many people may remember the “midnight green” used in the iPhone 11 Pro. The same color was praised by robot anime fans as “Muse” and became a hot topic.
Unfortunately, the taste of the iPhone 12 series has changed significantly, and the midnight green has been abolished. The iPhone 12 and 12 mini had “green”, but it was rather light green and did not have the astringency of midnight green. Meanwhile, the above-mentioned greens and alpine greens have appeared with full satisfaction. Let’s take a look at the actual iPhone 13 mini from the green.
iPhone 13 mini green
The photo on the back is as follows. It’s the same name as the green, but unlike that of the iPhone 12 mini, you can see that it’s a fairly deep green. Depending on how the light hits it, it looks like black. It becomes a little brighter when exposed to strong light, but the actual appearance under fluorescent light is closer to the color without the flash in the photo below.
The sides are below. The iPhone 13 mini has an aluminum frame. Because it has a glossy feel, the green is a little brighter than the back. When light is reflected, the shade of green is emphasized and beautiful. The back has a strong casual impression, but it has a slightly more luxurious feel.
iPhone 13 Pro Alpine Green
Next, let’s go to the iPhone 13 Pro. Frosted glass-like glass is used on the back of the iPhone 13 Pro, and the design is followed in Alpine Green. It has a smooth texture, reflects light beautifully, and is characterized by a slightly lighter and more vivid color. It’s deeper under fluorescent lights, but it’s more delicate than the iPhone 13 mini, giving it a luxurious feel.
Then the frame is below. Since the Pro model iPhone uses stainless steel, the glossiness is considerably stronger. As with the back, the color is unified with deep green.
By the way, the comparison with the author’s personal “Sierra Blue” is as follows. The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max had lighter coloring except for “graphite”, probably because of the glossiness of the material, but it may be a good choice for those who like heavier colors. I thought.
I also tried Face ID with mask for iOS 15.4
Since the latest “iOS 15.4” was installed on the iPhone 13 mini and 13 Pro that I tried, I also tried Face ID with the topic mask.
When setting Face ID, you will be prompted to register a face with a mask, so register as it is. If you are wearing glasses, you will be required to remove the glasses and register your face following registering with the glasses on.
As a result, when I registered my face, I was able to unlock it smoothly even with the mask on.
The nice thing is that, unlike unlocking on the Apple Watch, Face ID with an Apple Pay mask is valid. Now you don’t have to enter your passcode when paying or risk getting infected and slip your mask a bit. iOS 15.4 will be available next week, but I’m looking forward to it.
