Along the year 2022in Peru there will be a series of days holidays that are used by workers in the private and public sector to rest, travel or do any other activity that their daily work does not allow them to do. - Sunday May 01: Labor Day.
- Wednesday June 29: Day of Saint Peter and Saint Paul.
- Thursday July 28: National Holidays.
- Friday July 29: National Holidays.
- Tuesday August 30: Santa Rosa de Lima.
- Saturday 08 October: Battle of Angamos.
- Tuesday 01 November: All Saints Day.
- Thursday 08 December: Immaculate Conception’s Day.
- Friday December 09: Battle of Ayacucho- Public sector non-working day.
- Sunday December 25: Christmas.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I BE PAID IF I WORK ON A HOLIDAY
Legislative Decree Law 713 explains what is necessary on this matter. If it is a specific date that turns out to be a holiday and that coincides with your rest day, the employer must pay you a daily remuneration without implying that you must work that day.
However, if you decide to attend your work anyway, he must pay you an equivalent of three remunerations; that is, three times the amount obtained for a common 8-hour day. Why? Due to the coincidence of your weekly rest, the holiday remuneration and the remuneration for working that day. The worker must be paid double for the following concepts:
- Payment of the daily remuneration.
- Payment for the holiday.
- Payment for the rest day with a surcharge of 100%.
WHAT DAYS ARE NON-WORKING IN PERU
To the holidays that we already mentioned, you can add the days that are non-working. On many occasions this is done to encourage tourism in the country. It should be noted that in these cases there is no additional remuneration.
The non-working days in 2022 for Peru are: Monday May 2, Friday June 24, Monday August 29, Friday October 7, Monday October 31, Monday December 26 and Friday December 30, according to Supreme Decree No. 033-2022-PCM.
